Albert Einstein: A Scientific Genius or Spiritual Master… or Both?

As the first decade of the 21st Century is coming to a close with 2012 just on the horizon, science and spirituality are on a crash course of convergence more so than ever before. As more and more is being discovered in science about other galaxies and planets, the question of “are we alone” will continue to be asked and the answer inevitably leads us to a merger of science and spirituality.
But all of this should be of no surprise. For It was Albert Einstein in the early 1900s who so prophetically tried to explain this to us. Without putting a name or label on it, Einstein was a scientific genius and spiritual master all at the same time. While Einstein has undoubtedly gone down in history as one of the great scientists and inventors, he should also be acknowledged as a spiritual master. As evidence, I share with you the following from Master Einstein:
“A human being is a part of the whole, called by us ‘Universe,’ a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.”
